Years ago I learned from Robert Kiyosaki that successful business owners (and millionaires) all have one thing in common. In fact, they have all mastered it.
This is the art of sales. Love it or hate it, if you ever hope to become an empowered entrepreneur one must come to terms with selling. It's not easy! I know; I've been knee-deep in it since 2008.
The beauty about it is that over time you become desensitized to the difficult processes. You know - the monotony, the rejection, the slow seasons. This is the time when your agendas become clearer. Your thirst and hunger grow to be so insatiable, that not even the angriest 'no' can deter you. You see, the thing is a 'no' is often times fueled by ignorance. The prospect simply doesn't know.
However, what's grand about sales and marketing is that it's only a game of numbers. More importantly, the law of averages is on your side! What discourages most business owners is their failure to realize that some will and some won't.
According to the law of averages there are 'yes' responses in the midst of all those that tell you no. You just have to mine for them. They are there, though, and that's where the money is! Maintain focus, remember why you started, and find humor in the rejection.
